As this article has been deleted 6 times now, I've taken the liberty of protecting it against recreation for the time being. If you feel this band meets the guideline criteria for inclusion of a musical act article feel free to contact me or follow the links on the main page.--Isotope23 17:45, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Caspian certainly has enough influence in the post-rock genre that they deserve their own article here. They have released two albums on Dopamine Records that have generated a fair amount of talk in the instrumental music world, and they have been featured on at least two respected compilation albums (and possibly more that I am unaware of). There are plenty of lesser-known bands whose pages have been built and maintained here without question, and rightly so. Perfect13thStep 16:59, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I 100% back keeping this article; they are an established band with releases on a respected label. Zarcadia (talk) 20:14, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

unsalted

edit

Per a conversation with mwhale (talk · contribs):

  • It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7](et cetera, et cetera)

I have also found that it fulfilled the following criteria that make it very likely that sufficient reliable information is available.

  • Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country, reported in reliable sources. - Caspian has participated in two tours of USA of 20 shows or more and is currently on another[8] and this has been reported[9]

It needs to be expanded along WP:ATT lines as opposed to the unsourced band bio stuff that previously existed here. mwhale (talk · contribs) has offered to fix the article up with the sources.--Isotope23 16:06, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy

edit

I just unsalted this a few hours ago... take a look at the links above; this meets WP:MUSIC or at least asserts enough that this isn't a speedy. Since I "created" this article (or more accurately resurrected a stub) I'm not going to wipe out the tag... I'll leave it for someone else.--Isotope23 00:47, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

With the links posted, I think there's enough to assert notability. I removed my speedy tag. Realkyhick 01:00, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I added a history section to the article, with references. Any issue? Mwhale 04:56, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nope, looks good.--Isotope23 14:05, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've moved the inappropriate external links here for the time being per WP:EL. Feel free to incorporate them back into the article as references. Opencooper (talk) 06:03, 1 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
