Infrataxa
edit@Nicholaswei: Kew's World Checklist of Selected Plant Families and their more recent Plants of the World Online frequently exclude the "nominate" infrataxon (the one that matches the same name as the specific epithet). If a subspecies/variety is named, the nominate one exists automatically, so no need to confer with POWO. I'm not sure why they sometimes do and sometimes don't list the nominate; you'd think it could be a mass/batch creation process to add the nominates, or maybe it's just low priority.
One thing though, the sources Calflora and USDA that are being used as references for these taxa in the article do say subspecies, so you'll need to add a reference to Plants of the World Online and/or elsewhere if you change them to variety. Looks like the original publications did call them varieties.[1] —Hyperik ⌜talk⌟ 12:55, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Hyperik: sorry, missed your message! I've added in references to POWO. Nicholaswei (talk) 22:00, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
