Most band articles have a "members" section, but they format it differently. Usually, it is divided by instrument and has- "Name (years active in band)." If you guys don't mind, I'm going to reformat it like that. -Kanogul ^(talk) 23:32, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Melodee was replaced by a male violinist on the one off concert in Sydney. Might have also been with them in NZ for concert(s) there.. Forget his name. Can dig it up if that is relevant.

introduction

I would really like to get this article on up there to maybe even an A-class or Featured article, so I'm going to work on it. I believe the introduction is too long, and maybe just the first paragraph should be kept where it is. The rest should probably be moved into a "History" section or something. Soft Rock?

I'm not questioning they do use a soft rock style, but look at more recent songs that are not soft rock, like What this World Needs. They also have many songs, such as White Dove Fly High, 'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus, Now My Lifesong Sings, etc. that are not rock, but more traditional style. That's right. 'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus was a really good interpretation that came out on WOW Hymns, and it's actually an extremely calm song! I suggest writing something like "Their style is mostly Rock, but they also play several (or some) calm songs." Sim(ã)o(n) (talk) 11:33, 14 November 2012 (UTC)

Casting Crowns is a contemporary Christian band that has been around for about 13 years now. A lot of their music is of the Christian Rock genre. However, they do have several songs that are more contemporary and less rock. Casting Crowns also performs concerts at universities and usually draws large crowds of people of all ages. Can someone explain to me what that template requests of the editors? What are these "soaces" it speaks of? I mean "soaces" is not recognized by Merriam-Webster. What and where is this "heading formatting?" "Curly quotes"? What is this? I understand the concept of "copy editing", and I see repeated links, but I don't understand the rest. Soaces is a typo for "spaces" and "curly quotes" are the opposite of straight quotes, the latter are used around the words to the left. Walter Görlitz (talk) 07:03, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

Removal of genre by 67.237.63.56

I'm not a genre warrior, and have no intention of ever being one.

I just thought that 67.237.63.56 was being on the mischievous side when (s)he removed "soft rock" from this article's infobox without giving a reason. (S)he did the same thing with Neil Diamond, The Osmonds and Leonard Cohen, and these edits were reverted too.

But if, in this case, (s)he was actually right – that soft rock is not among Casting Crowns' genres – and hence I was wrong to revert his/her edit, then I accept that.

As I said, I have no intention of ever being a genre warrior. And I would never want to be accused of genre warring, even inadvertently. Bluebird207 (talk) 13:54, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

So where is the source that supports the genre? I would normally have reverted the anon with something like, "unexplained removal of sourced genre (see WP:GWAR)", but since it's not sourced, I couldn't do it in good conscience. I'm not calling you a genre warrior, I was simply indicating that adding and removing genres without explanation (at least you gave one) and without sources is seen as unacceptable. I didn't follow the editor any more than I followed you, I simply looked here. For that matter, CCM and Christian Rock are not referenced, but their charting supports that. I'll have to do some digging. I feel like I had to ask a Wikiproject about it in the past, because it was something I had learned second-hand from someone, but couldn't find in any if the MOS or guidelines. I'm having a hard time finding it in any Wikiproject talk archives too. I wonder if it was just a user talk page somewhere instead. In which case, it probably wasn't much of a consensus of course.
