"I cannot find any evidence that this exists let alone is notable"

This Hill fort most definately exists, I doubt that you will find any reference to it anywhere, particularly on Google! (Do you rely on Google for all your information?) but if you look at Ordnance Survey maps grid reference SS937181 particularly Landranger 181 Minehead & Brendon Hills, or on 'get a map' at the OS website - it is quite clearly shown and named as 'Castle Close' - settlement. I will soon provide a photograph to go with the article. As to whether it's noteable, surely that's up to those of us that post here?

Don't be so hasty to remove my articles please, you will see from my History that I don't post anything that isn't based in fact. For someone who has created precisely one very tedious article on Wikipedia you seem to have considerable form for nominating other people's articles for deletion - why don't you write a few more instead?Trotboy 13:26, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Please take time out to familiarise yourself with WP:CIVIL. Now, moving back to the article, even if it exists, what sources do you have to stand up that it is a 'Iron Age Hill Fort'? I doubt that there will ever be enough material for a full article so my suggestion is to create an article on the locality and add a mention there - see WP:LOCAL. Actually, I'd suggest it's you that needs to familiarize yourself with WP:CIVIL - doesn't it ring any bells in your head that you have a list as long as my arm of people incensed that you have recommended their articles for deletion?? I was merely suggesting your considerable energies might be better spent elsewhere. You are not some kind of appointed policeman of Wikipedia - nor, I would suggest, are you an expert on Iron age hill forts - if you even bothered to read the article, you would see I described it as an 'Iron age hill fort OR enclosure' - since no archaeological work has, thus far, been conducted on the site, it is difficult to know if it was a fort or not. Having visited the site today however, I would certainly suggest it is.Trotboy 13:26, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Sources

The article simply needs some reliable source(s) that can be referenced by others. It probably will be some scholarly source since this is historical/archaeological in nature. The only source existant, as far as I am aware, is the Ordnance Survey Map Reference as given. I have not found this particular site mentioned so-far in any particular documents, but I will keep looking, and will post as appropriate. Why should any other source be required? The site exists, see the photo, and is clearly Iron age in origin. Trotboy 16:08, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Location

Apparently, though it's closer to Stoodleigh, the site actually in the parish of Washfield.[1] We don't seem to have an article on Washfield at the moment though. Kelly ^hi! 08:17, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
