editThere is no such thing as Cayman Creole.
Take it from somebody who lives there.Travisritch 06:28, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- My search on the Internet came up with nothing refering "Cayman Creole". What I've found is Jamaican Creole spoken by Jamaican immigrants in Cayman Islands. Should this article really exist? Ten Islands 10:31, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. Deleted.
- Actually, 'Cayman Creole' might be just Jamaican Creole in the Caymans. But this stub doesn't say. — kwami (talk) 03:09, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
Cayman Islands Dialect
editSpeaking as a Caymanian, the type of English spoken here is a dialect, not a creole. The vocabulary used here makes fairly wide use of unique slang terms, but as a whole it is far closer to standard English than any creole. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.222.87.247 (talk) 02:18, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Are we sure this is a creole?
editShould this really be categorized as a creole? The article states that it borrows features from creoles but isn't a creole itself. ~Nai of Arctic Circle System (talk) 01:46, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
I have reverted the insertion of WP:UNDUE, WP:BIAS and WP:TE by blocked IP user as likely WP:SPA and WP:SOCK. Similar changes were made by this user to several related pages: Afro-Caribbeans, Afro-Jamaicans, Bermuda, Black Bermudians, Cayman Islands, Coromantee, Jamaican Creole, Jamaican Maroon Creole, Mixed-race Caymanians, Tacky's Rebellion, Turks and Caicos Creole, Turks & Caicos, and many others.
Having compared the diffs to see if there was anything worth keeping, I have manually restored anything with RSes or which improved prose (if there was anything). Most changes were poorly sourced and added significant bias into the article, or simply removed existing information for no policy-based reason.
For transparency, I will post this on all affected pages. If you find any more edits likely from the same user, please let me know. Lewisguile (talk) 18:10, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
