Trivia Section
The trivia section needs to be converted into paragraph test per WP:AVTRIV. Also the fact that he looks a little like Will Ferrell is not really a fact, and does not follow WP:NPOV. --Mattarata 16:19, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Picture
Why no picture of Chad Smith on the page??
- I have added a pciture from their recent album promotion, hopefully it wont get canned for copyright reasons...i think it should qualify as fair use from promotional materials --Mattarata 22:50, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Hauptgebäude, Michigan?
There is no such place as Hauptgebäude, Michigan. Tiorted 15:07, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Different languages
Hello! I've just added a Russian version of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chad_Smith
--Russian77 01:06, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Discography is a mess!
Should it be cleaned up with the current listing, or should it include everything he's drummed on? It's all listed on his website. Either way, it needs to be cleaned up. TheDavesr 22:41, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't add anything, but I fixed it up well so it'll look like other discographies with links to the other artists and italics on most of the albums. Cdylan13 14:30, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Chad's Smith's Equipment
Chad uses a Brady snare for live gigs! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.55.172.240 (talk) 20:27, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Does anybody know anything about Chad's Snare's he is using right now. In the Ewuipment section, people keep putting down his Signature snare, but he dosn't use that Live. Also, recently he has been using a snare i can't identify, so if anyboy knows anything about it, put it in the artical.
He did, for the One hot Minute tour, but that's long time ago.
Chad Smith's Correct Equipment
Of late, people have been changing his equipment putting in that he uses his Signature Snare and a Pearl Sensitone Snare. Well, since early 2007, Chad has been using a Yamaha Jimmy Chamberlin Signature Snare on tour with the chili peppers.
Chad used to use the Sensitone Snare, but currently does not, only for clinics. Also, chad smith has never used his Siagnature Snare live before; only in clinics.
So if you need anymore info on his kit, contact me because i have done heaps of research on his kit, and i have spoken to the rhcp FOH sound engineer who is a good friend of chad, and he told me about his kit setup! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bojosoto (talk • contribs) 23:22, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Pictures
Some douche switched Will Ferrell and Chad's pictures on their pages. Whoever did it needs to take it up the bunghole. BOOOOOONGING! —Preceding unsigned comment added by MindStormXXI (talk • contribs) 23:12, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Will Ferrell
HAHA this guy could be WIll Ferrells twin, somthing about that should be in here.
no, it shouldn't.
You're right, he is his freakin twin. That should at least go in trivia.
Okay, when I saw him I thought of Will Ferrell too, but I don't think that's worthy of being put in a trivia section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.161.128.178 (talk) 20:34, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
I think there should be a tidbit about their similar looks. You could say that he is often noted by fans to look very similar to Will Ferrell. CalBears99 (talk) 20:01, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
That would qualify as original research though, as it isn't cited to anywhere and it is just an opinion, not a provable fact. Though it is a pretty striking resemblance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.247.124.196 (talk) 02:47, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
Chickenfoot
In this month's issue of DRUM! magazine, on the last actual page with the small articles, It had an article for the new supergroup assembled called "Chickenfoot". This is a pretty solid source, and I am adding this to all of the other member's pages; Chad Smith, ex-Van Halen Bassist Michael Anthony (musician). and Sammy Hagar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zanny77 (talk • contribs) 05:47, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Equipment
Is the very long list of Chad Smith's equipment really worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia? I understand that drummers love that kind of information but is it important enough to be included in a encyclopedia intended for general public use?

History?
Does anybody knows something more about Chad Smith? Something like where or who did he study, some band before the Chili Peppers, or whatever?
- yh i added that in from an interview i found.
- chads idol was buddy rich, and his favourite rock band was kiss, (he is also the best drummer of today not because he is amazing. its because he has a groove and plays the drums with passion and power)
- I was wondering about his high school because some people say he didn't graduate from Lahser... I was also wondering where he went to middle school. (I've heard Bloomfield Hills Middle School.)

- He went to Homewood-Flossmoor High School, but does anyone know where he lived during that time? The article says Homewood-Flossmoor, Illinois which is 2 separate towns. If he went to that school he would have had to live in Homewood, Flossmoor, Chicago Heights, Glenwood, Hazel Crest, or Olympia Fields —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.174.106.160 (talk) 14:51, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Modern Drummer
Chad has been recognized by modern drummer on at least one occasion for his contributions to the drumming community. I am a bit surprised that it is not mentioned here, but I also don't know exactly what awards he has won. Anybody want to add something to the article about it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.190.92.84 (talk) 02:59, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Middle Name
Can someone verify Chad's middlename as gaylord thank you Kurt000 18:50, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- IMDBIt lists his middle name as Gaylord, so I added it to the article. TheDavesr 22:43, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
that is not the chad smith who plays in the rhcp. It is an actor of the same name
- The biography on IMDB clearly states information about his presence in RHCP. Please RTFA. --Mattarata 16:51, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
I have reverted removal of his middlename many times now. Sometimes is is removed by bots who think its vandalism, others simply think there is no chance someone can be named Gaylord. The only source we have is IMDB and until IMDB is ruled as an unacceptable source, then I say it should stay in this article. --Mattarata 23:50, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
You realize that IMDB can be edited by anyone, as Wikipedia can, right? And vandalism is rarely, if ever, undone by them. I'm removing the middle name until a better source is found. Xihix 00:20, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Hey I found a video in which Chad himself says his name is Gaylord. Here's the link: [1]. Discogs also mentions Gaylord as his middle name. I'm adding the middle name. Amgn (talk) 00:17, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
In the DVD where he drums with John Blackwell, when it is his turn to drum, he introduces himself as "Chad Gaylord Smith". 122.104.198.149 (talk) 07:46, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
- Don't hold me to it, but I seem to remember reading it in the Anthony Kiedis book as well. As rare as the name maybe now (for obvious reasons), I think it's correct. Sky83 (talk) 14:43, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- Furthermore, I have added it back into the article with the YouTube reference. It would be good if someone could find a different source, but since this is controversial, it would be better to have that than nothing at all. I have also placed a hidden editor's note into the section, warning any overzealous editors that the middle name of Gaylord is not vandalism, as I imagine a lot of people are thinking it is just someone trying to be funny. Sky83 (talk) 14:53, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Chad's full birth name is Chadwick Gaylord Smith. I know some feel it's a funny name, maybe posted as a joke (which i'm sure many are reminded of the film, Meet the Parents but Gaylord is a real name and used often back then. Nowadays I doubt too many parents are naming their kids that. Flea still during shows will introduce him as that. Listen to their current bootlegs from the I'm with You tour. Influence List
I know we all love Johnny Cash but his name shouldn't have "the great" before it. Who knows some people might not think he is great... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:468:C80:4113:248F:486F:9575:CF1F (talk) 17:54, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

Let Love Rule is a hoax information
It is appearantly not true that Chad Smith was involved in the recording of Lenny Kravitz' "Let Love Rule" album: http://www.discogs.com/Lenny-Kravitz-Let-Love-Rule/release/715454. Therefore, I remove this information from this article. If anyone has a source proving his involvement, please let the others know.--Einar Moses Wohltun (talk) 09:48, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
