Stutchin

edit

Does anyone know if Stutchin should be linked to Ščučyn? (per google search, there seems to be a connection with Stuchin and Szczuczyn (Polish name for Ščučyn)) --Jms2000 18:32, 25 August 2006 (UTC) sorry, don't know. רח"ק | Talk | Contribs 21:49, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Spelling: Shmuelevitz vs. Shmulevitz

edit

ARTSCROLL uses the Shmulevitz spelling. The External site does also (in the URL!) Auction sites auctioning off a handwritten note likewise.

Moreover, the Auction sites spell it without the Aleph, although one place in a description DOES have an Aleph.(http://www.moreshet-auctions.com/a-letter-in-the-handwriting-of-the-rosh-yeshiva-of-mir-rabbi-chaim-shmulevitz)

Despite the guideline that Google searcgh results are not a basis of "facts"
it's worth noting that in the English, Shmulevitz wins 51,500 to 19,600
whereas in the Hebrew, with an aleph wins 30,500 to 15,200.

For now, at least a simple notation is what I'm adding:

Random question

edit

Being that it is simply a random and irrelevant question, I cut this out of the "Personality" section:

"On the Kli Yakar's comment regarding when Noach is instructed (6:21) "Kach LeCha" - take for yourself (into the Ark) food, that it must belong to Noach and not someone else, Rav Chaim Shmulevitz asks: did Hashem really suspect Noach of theft?[1]"

If anyone wants to put it back in the page with the answer (if it's relevant - I didn't check), go ahead. High Leader (talk) 03:27, 21 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
