editObservation: This article talks about everything except the song itself. What style of R&B is it? What type of chord progression does it have? What is the song about? --Mcorazao (talk) 02:30, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- It's hard to source, but apparently it doesn't have a chord progression - it's a single chord throughout. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 22:01, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
no mention of record labels, which played a big role in her career
editChain of Fools was recorded for Columbia which did not "push" the record until after Aretha had her breakthrough first hit (all the way to #1!) of R-E-S-P-E-C-T (written by Otis Redding), which they then went all out to capitalize on, pulling no punches. I was Music Director of WBRS radio in East Lansing, Michigan at the time, and Columbia was acting as if they were the ones who had put her on the map, so to speak. Yeah, they recorded her, but they did not seem to know what to do with her or what recordings to make. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lovingthesixties (talk • contribs) 04:51, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
