Original research and reliable sources

@User:PsytranceGuru, Wikipedia is all about what reliable sources say, not what we as individual editors, want. That means no unsourced changes and no original research. Please read the policies: Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:No original research.

The issues with your edits: this edit is particularly problematic. Not only are you violating neutrality (Wikipedia:Neutral point of view), your changes may constitute original research. The changes to definition are not supported by the existing sources. Changes based on your personal "research"/experience are not acceptable- please provide a reliable source for alternative usage.

As for this edit, its inclusion might be notable - if - it received coverage in reliable sources. The problem is with your source- it may not meet reliability due to political slant. (Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources) My personal oppinion is that inlusion of Calderon's, an ex-President, usage is notable. My personal opinion is irrelevant though. A better source is needed. @User:AuroralColibri, so where is your reliable source for this statement?: "...is a pejorative epithet used in Mexico to describe an individual who holds a far-left ideology." Also, the news portal Aristegui Noticias, the source I used here, was the recipient of the Knight International Journalism Award by the International Center for Journalists in 2016, so how is this not a reliable source?. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PsytranceGuru (talk • contribs) 21:07, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

@User:PsytranceGuru The sources provided in the body text give its definition. WP:LEADCITE, intro doesn't need to be sourced if it is a summary of the sourced body.

From Chilango: "Chairo esa palabra maldita, es actualmente un término utilizado para mofarse de personas con una identidad política de izquierda."

From Milenio: "Es ofensiva para muchos y quien la endilga a otro siente superioridad intelectual respecto de esa persona... y se usa para señalar a personas... que reúnen características y afinidades como una vasta ideología izquierdista–anarquista con componentes hippies y hipsters... ". I tried to keep the translation as Wikipedia:neutral as possible.

The point is, if the Calderon usage is Wikipedia:notable it would have recieved significant coverage. Your source does not support your edit. It is simply a repost of the tweet, nothing else. Your claim of "as a hashtag in twitter to mock current opposition presidential candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador" is original research. AuroralColibri (talk) 00:32, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
