Ruin

edit

I have added EPA photographs to show the widespread ruin by the flooding and the oil spill in Chalmette, Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. -Wikid77 03:19, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Beyond Katrina

edit

To avoid the appearance of a news-based article, I moved other paragraphs above the "Hurricane Katrina" section to balance the 250-year history of Chalmette against the few years of Katrina impact. Also, other non-hurricane photos were added. More could be written. However, on balance, there are also detailed hurricane photos in the "Hurricane Katrina" section. The neutral approach is to focus, as well, on other aspects of Chalmette, without ignoring the widespread devastation of the oil-spill impact, deep flood, and houses pushed off foundations. -Wikid77 18:06, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
