The contents of the Emdeon page were merged into Change Healthcare on 19 April 2018. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page. |
I removed a deletion tag and performed a deeper revert to a more encyclopedic version. The article had been blanked and a promotional version of the article had been constructed over several revisions. There may be useful information in the more promotional version, however, that could be merged. In any event, the article is not eligible for speedy deletion since there is a non-promotional version of it in the history. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 22:52, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
- Sounds good. I picked a bad version when I checked the history, I'll look more carefully next time. There are still content issues both here and at Emdeon, but not of the G11 variety. power~enwiki (π, ν) 23:02 23 October 2017 (UTC)

Hello! My name is Barbara and I work for UnitedHealth Group. I'm here on Wikipedia to submit edit requests and suggest improvements to articles related to the company. I've been working with editors at Talk:UnitedHealth Group, but in this case I'd like to submit a request to add an update regarding the 2024 Change Healthcare cyberattack. I am proposing the addition of the following paragraph to the end of the Response section.
As of March 18, 2024, UnitedHealth Group had advanced payments of over $2 billion in assistance to health care providers affected by the cybersecurity attack. In addition, some services had been restored including Change Healthcare’s payment processing platform and pharmacy network.[1]

Thank you for making this update! Barbara at UHG (talk) 20:26, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- It seems reasonable enough of a change. Thank you for disclosing. User:Sawerchessread (talk) 21:46, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- I've gone and added it in. User:Sawerchessread (talk) 21:53, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
User:Sawerchessread, Thank you for responding to my request.
Question for you. The Response section details the health care industry response to the attack, not UnitedHealth Group’s response, correct? If my assumption is correct, do you think that for clarification purposes it would help to edit the Response subheading so that it reads Industry response?
Just a suggestion. Either way, I appreciate your assistance. Barbara at UHG (talk) 20:11, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- Looking through other previous hacks:
- 2011_PlayStation_Network_outage#Reaction They use reaction but split up information into multiple sections, which makes sense with how comprehensive the reaction section is.
- Yahoo!_data_breaches#Reactions_and_Criticism Same for these hacks
- Colonial_Pipeline_ransomware_attack#Responses Uses simply responses
- It could be called Responses or Reactions and be split into smaller subheadings if we flesh it out further. If there is a more appropriate example we could refer to, that could help as well. User:Sawerchessread (talk) 02:09, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
Edit request for 2024 Cyberattack section
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
An entry in this article’s 2024 Cyberattack section says that "As of March 18, 2024, UnitedHealth Group had advanced payments of over $2 billion in assistance to health care providers affected by the cybersecurity attack." This information was updated in an April 16, 2024, CNBC article that reports the funds provided as now totaling more than $6 billion. Would editors be willing to update the cyberattack section with this more recent information?
Thanks for considering this update! Barbara at UHG (talk) 21:00, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- User:Sawerchessread, Thanks for addressing my request so promptly! I believe, however, that per the cited source the entry should read, "As of April 16, 2024, UnitedHealth Group had advanced payments of over $6 billion in assistance to health care providers affected by the cybersecurity attack."
Thank you! Barbara at UHG (talk) 16:58, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
Removal of ticker symbol
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
As noted in this article, Change Healthcare is now a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group. As a result, it no longer trades on the Nasdaq and I am proposing that editors remove the Change Healthcare ticker symbol in the infobox near the top of the article.
Thanks for making this update! Barbara at UHG (talk) 20:30, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
