- Feel free to do so whenever you want, just be bold.
Dragons of Vanished Moon appendix
editJust a note - the Appendix to the hardback edition of Dragons of a Vanished Moon is no longer considered part of official continuity, so all information regarding Chaos being Ionthas, the association of the various gods to the Seven Deadly Sins and the dragons, etc etc should be avoided. The recent release of Holy Orders of the Stars by Sovereign Press is the current official view of the gods of Dragonlance. Cam Banks,128.118.90.144 13:08, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information. Has Margaret or Tracy stated that somewhere, new book has the information or is it explained somewhere else? We would like that information too so that we can create a "non-canon" section with the current information. -- ReyBrujo 15:30, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Holy Orders of the Stars
editAll current information regarding Chaos and his relation to the High God should come from Holy Orders of the Stars, which supercedes the Vanished Moon appendix. In essence, the High God represents order, then Chaos represents, well..., chaos. They are the two most powerful beings in the universe, with the gods of Krynn following. All info about Ionthas being "cast out" should be considered a kender tale. -Dragonhelm
- It seems so. I haven't ordered the book yet, working on the Heroes of the Lance articles right now. If you can give a hand here, feel free to do so. -- ReyBrujo 22:01, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Move Request
editIt was requested that this article be renamed but the procedure outlined at WP:RM#How to request a page move did not appear to be followed, and consensus could not be determined. Please request a move again with proper procedure if there is still a desire for the page to be moved. Thank you for time! -- tariqabjotu 23:52, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Ionthas compared to Chaos
editI'm sure someone has discussed this, and I don't have much problem with Ionthas, but I would like to know where to name comes from. In Dragons of Summer Flame, he is only refferred to as Chaos. I'd just like a source for his name. DoomsDay349 00:10, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
High God?
editOk I don't remember jack about a high god. Isn't chaos the father of the other krynn gods and hes just ticked off that they created a world so after he gets loose or w/e he starts to trash it? Eno-Etile 05:54, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Ao?
editAlso I was wondering if this high god is Ao from the forgotten realms series? Or if the high god is Chaos is he Ao? Because there are refrences to Krynn in the Forgotten Realms games, so I assume thier multiverses do overlap so therefore thier gods might ... Eno-Etile 05:57, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Io
editThe name Ionthas was created by Matthew L. Martin for his Martinian Canon, the original name of the gods portion of the Vanished Moon appendix. Ionthas was a tribute to Io, the name of the 9-headed dragon seen elsewhere in D&D. The name Ionthas is no longer considered part of continuity. Dragonhelm 11:51, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Chaos over Ionthas
editI have recently discovered through discussion on forums that Chaos is the only name of...Chaos. Ionthas was mentioned in Dragons of a Vanished Moon HC Appendix (page 528-529) as the true name of Chaos, but in Holy Orders of the Stars (page 109) it is superseded. Chaos is now canon, as well as the common name. Can we get this moved back to Chaos (Dragonlance)? DoomsDay349 04:09, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- No objections. However, it apparently will have to go through Wikipedia:Requested moves. Ddcc 19:20, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- I brought this up on the forums, and it has been confirmed by several, including Cam Banks, one of the game designers for Dragonlance. They have given me the pages, I just have to reference them... I'll get to the moving soon. The article, as stated by Cam, is also massively incorrect and needs a rewrite...I'll do it after the move. DoomsDay349 20:05, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

The result of the debate was move. -- tariqabjotu 06:07, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Requested move
editIonthas → Chaos (Dragonlance) — I believe this page was considered for moving before, but I have proof that Chaos is not only the more common name, it is the correct name. In Dragons of a Vanished Moon HC Appendix (page 528-529), it states the Chaos's true name is Ionthas, and was prior to his fall (such as Lucifer coming to be known as Satan). However, in Holy Orders of the Stars, which supersedes that Appendix in matters related to the gods, it states on page 109 that Chaos is his only name. Therefore, this page, per naming policies, must be moved. I think Chaos (Dragonlance) was the former title and whatnot so this has to go through this policy, if I'm wrong tell me and correct it. Thank you. DoomsDay349 20:18, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
