is considered as one of the oldest Chinese dialects for it preserves many elegant and refined features from ancient Chinese that have been lost in some of the other modern dialects of Chinese.
editThis statement needs substantiation. What are the sources of such claims? What are the 'elegant' and 'refined' features from 'ancient' Chinese? Chinese from which period? Are there examples of such 'features'?
