Disappointing arrears redirect
editUnited Nations arrears redirects to United Nations#Funding, which doesn't treat the subject at all. This page currently has already a better treatment of the subject than the linked one before it was turned to a redirect. Guess some content could be moved/copied, or more simply this could be made the main page for the subject (it's probably not the best place for arrears that don't trigger article 19). The only other page using the redirect is United_States_and_the_United_Nations#The_U.S._arrears_issue. PS. I found it strange that the talk page for United Nations is protected. 31.26.85.7 (talk) 22:43, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
- The previous text seems a bit short for a standalone article, and was created by a blocked sockpuppet, but I don't see why verified information on the topic wouldn't belong at United Nations#Funding. CMD (talk) 05:31, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
- What we got here would take a pretty good chunk of United Nations#Funding. I was thinking more of a quick mention with a link to article 19. Given the need and sources, it may be expanded with some more financial and less juridical focus than here. A "see also:funding" skipping the redirect would be still relevant and less misleading, otherwise if there is possibility for expansion the redirect could stay the way it is. 176.247.251.200 (talk) 17:52, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
- If there is an issue of due weight within the UN article, the step below would probably be a Funding of the United Nations article, rather than jumping all the way down to arrears. CMD (talk) 06:31, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- The Funding of the United Nations step below looks fine for me, if needed. I changed the "see also" link here, which doesn't seeem to be controversial. I will probably try a suggested edit for the United Nation article (probably not too soon). Using some sort of excerpt to avoid content fork seems also a good idea. Guess part of the issue with the former article was an excessive focus on USA, which coupled with poor sources, omissions and sockpuppetry can be even worse than it looks. I'm the same IP user as before and I guess that eventual further discussion should go to Talk:United Nations 176.247.251.200 (talk) 00:13, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
