A fact from Charles Alan Pownall appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 12 May 2009 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that after some members of the Guamanian Congress refused to attend a joint session, Governor Charles Alan Pownall removed them from office?
The source just says that "the people" refused to recognize his appointees after village meetings. This is too vague to say anything less than Guamanians in my opinion. かんぱい! Scapler (talk) 15:58, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have about 20 books on Guamanian history from my university library checked out right now for a research paper. I will see if I can find a source that is more specific on this. かんぱい! Scapler (talk) 17:35, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Please do! I look forward to seeing your research on these pages. Thanks so very much for your work on the Governors of Guam pages. The whole discussion of who is Guamanian and who is Chamorro is fascination to me. Sprinkler21 (talk) 05:41, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Sprinkler21Reply
I think I found our answer: Pedro Sanchez says that it was 12 of the 19 villages who voted not to recognize them. This sidesteps the whole issue of Chamorros vs. Guamanians and gives a much more specific picture of the issue. かんぱい! Scapler (talk) 03:33, 8 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
