His son was an incredibly important immunologist if that counts for anything. He would have one the 2011 Nobel Prize in Medicine if he had lived longer. Dataclysm (talk) 05:23, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Janeway Hospital in Newfoundland and Labrador

From the Article:

"...In 1964, Janeway worked with the provincial government in St John's, Newfoundland, Canada to establish a children's hospital. In recognition of his efforts and dedication, the hospital was named the Dr. Charles Alderson Janeway Child Health Centre. Its first location was in the former base hospital on Pepperrell Air Force Base which had closed several years earlier...."

There appears to have been some controversy over the concept of the original Janeway Hospital. (I have a vague recollection from my childhood of the terseness of the debate from my family discussions).

Ironically, it is now demolished and replaced with a new structure adjacent to the Health Sciences Centre and Medical School(Formerly the General Hospital) in St. John's as was recommended by the NMA originally. It still retains the name of Dr. Janeway although neither he ever practiced(?) medicine in the Province, but appeared to function solely as a consultant.
