1. It is reasonably well written.

   ...but ultimately agreed to provide about $100,000 of the $160,000 budget for Pierce's first film. Prior to directing his first film,... Can we rephrase this? Two instances of "first film" in close proximity is rather clunky.

   Try to vary the phrasing a little. There are many instances where the repetitive pattern of sentences starting with the word "Pierce" or "he" jar somewhat. Read the article out aloud, and give it a thorough copy-edit to improve the flow.

   He had previously refused to participate in an earlier sequel, Return to Boggy Creek (1977), which was filmed by director Tom Moore. Pierce did not participate in the production and did not like the final film. Repetitious

   Like the earlier sequel, Pierce did not like his own finished film and considered it his worst directorial effort. Very poor grammar.

   Also that year, the festival's best film award in his honor to the Charles B. Pierce Award for Best Film Made in Arkansas As it stands this is meaningless.

   Pierce's first wife was Cindy Butler, who appeared in a role in his film The Town That Dread Sundown. Although they divorced, Pierce said they remained friends after they parted. He remarried Beth Pulley Pierce, who he met while filming Hawken's Breed. "He remarried Beth Pulley Pierce" implies that these two had been married (and presumably) divorced previously. I also note that "Beth Pulley Pierce" was not her name when they married?

   Overall the prose could do with a thorough copy-edit as noted above. It seems rather slapdash and carelessly put together at present.

   I don't think that the Selected filmography should include his set decorating credits, which are not particularly notable.

   • Are you recommending simply removing all of the set decorating credits altogether? I'll do this if you feel strongly about it, but I guess I'd rather not. His work as a set decorator is discussed at various points in the article, and it seems odd to me to leave it out of the filmography altogether. Perhaps, as a suggestion, we should keep in the films in which the article specifically mentions (cited by reliable sources) his work as a set decorator (like Coffy, Hondo, Black Belt Jones, etc.) and remove the ones where they are not cited in the article? (like The Phantom Tollbooth, The Strawberry Statement, An Eye for an Eye, etc.) Let me know what you think. — Hunter Kahn 22:14, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

   Charles' first wife was actually Florene (Flo) Pierce and they had 3 children together, Pam, Chuck and Amy. After they divorced, is when he married Cindy Butler. Flo was in a couple of his movies.
