Notability
editI thought Charles Emerson Beecher was notable for a page of his own because:
- The person has held a major highest-level elected or appointed academic post at an academic institution or major academic society. Effectively, head of earth science at Yale.
- Continuing studies (which he initiated) at the site named after him have provided some of the best preserved examples of trilobite anatomy in the world.
- Beecher was one of the first
(?the first)paleontologist to rigorously describe trilobite ventral anatomy (legs). - He died young, yet had an impact in his field and was promoted rapidly (a big brain of his times).
I'll add refs to the article as I find them, but leave the notability criteria to others. Psuedomorph (talk) 17:39, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
