Oppenheimer's corpse
editOppenheimer's corpse was in the cage from 1738 to 1744. Karl Eugen apparently gave orders to take it down. Please someone verify this and fix the wrong info in this article.MantraMongoli (talk) 19:52, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
MantraMongoli is correct. Karl Eugen was just 9 or 10 years old at the time Oppenheimer was tortured, tried, convicted and executed. The real power in Württemberg was then being exercised by the Administrators, Carl Rudolf, Duke of Württemberg-Neuenstadt, and Carl Frederick von Württemberg-Oels. They are the ones who ordered that Oppenheimer be gibbetted. After Karl Eugen came of age, and took the reigns of government in his own hands, he ordered that Oppenheimer's corpse be taken down and given a decent burial.
