First winter ascent of the Matterhorn?
editWhat is the source for the (now deleted) suggestion that Meade was the first person to make a winter ascent of the Matterhorn. Sources which I have seen suggest that it was an Italian, many years before. See eg: [1] 45ossington (talk) 08:03, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
The lastname Meade has the same etymological roots about meadows has both Matterhorn and Zermatt. Wow!
