This was split into separate articles when a descendant claimed that he never played football. I've fixed the death date based on the death notice. For the date of birth, I think that it's more likely 1879, based upon the Victorian BDM lists, registering the birth in 1879. I haven't been able to find a birth notice on trove, nor any more details about the Melbourne footballer. In the discussion on User:Jevansen's talk page, User:Jenks24 says that the footballer was H. Watson, and there are 2 Herbert Watsons born in 1878 in Victoria. I have just found an older cousin of Charles, birth registered in 1877, Cecil Herbert Marriott Watson, who matriculated from Melbourne Grammar School (known as CEGS then) in May 1896. The Melbourne footballer is listed as being recruited from Melbourne Grammar. He died in May 1934 in South Africa, working for Crown mines. The-Pope (talk) 15:52, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
