Before removing part of the text concerning his wife, it would have been better to read about Vergennes's wedding. It is not a detail because it is partly why he was called back to France and hence became foreign minister. Many talk about his wedding, always reporting the same errors. The text written in Wikipedia about his wife wanted to end these mistakes. You should think about puting some back. Maybe in a footnote ?
In Wikipedia, it is better to add than to reduce. Is there a need for space ?

Not as supportive of the american cause as described
editAs he was a supporter of the american cause, he did make it extremely difficult for the americans. He would only deal with Franklin, who was more concerned about French Court than the indepedence of America at times. He wanted to dominate America decisions about negotiation and peace. This article does not delve far enough, only to say that he fully supported our efforts, which is a bit of a stretch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KvSlatt (talk • contribs) 11:57, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

What happened to his wife?
editThere doesn't appear to be a Wikipedia article for her. Was she executed during the Revolution? Or did she die of old age, if the article says she died in 1798? Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 08:23, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
