editA note on the correction of the title of the Bret Harte parody novel from Terence Deuville to Terence Denville. The 1914 published Sensation Novels Condensed at Internet Archive[1] persistently misspells Terence Denville as Terence Deuville, which may have been the origin of the misspelling of the title in this article.
