TD Ameritrade Park or TD Ameritrade Park Omaha?
editDoes Omaha come at the end or not? Some media say it and some don't. The logo has it and it would match up with Qwest Center Omaha. DandyDan2007 (talk) 23:19, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- I noticed that. I named this TD Ameritrade Park because this is what the articles were saying, but I did see the Omaha on the logo. Do you think that the name of this article should change to include Omaha to reflect the logo? Sweet Pea 1981 (talk) 13:39, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- After looking around, I will go ahead and move the article to TD Ameritrade Park Omaha (per the official site) [1] Sweet Pea 1981 (talk) 14:01, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- When it was announced in Omaha it was annouced as TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. Also if I remember right it's going to be managed by Mecca though it is on city land. Mecca is the owner of Qwest Center and Qwest's official name is Qwest Center Omaha as Dandy pointed out. Nice or in evil (talk) 00:11, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- MECA doesn't own the Qwest Center anymore than the Airport Authority owns Eppley Airfield. They are management groups in charge of the facilities, their operations, and their finances, but their respective facilities are still city property. I digress though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.168.194.58 (talk) 23:52, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Dispute
editMy understanding was that the park was never going be home for the Royals. When the news of the possibility of a new park broke, news outlets in Omaha started annoucing that the Royals were looking for a new home. Nice or in evil (talk) 00:13, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
The new stadium was originally designed to accommodate the royals. I recall a ketv article that mentioned this specifically that that was the motivation for making so many seats removable. The royals however did not want to pay what Omaha was asking to move into the new stadium. Sadly I can not find any old articles on ketv, they seemed to have removed them in the upgrade.
