edit- The electors of Lincoln however, thought very highly of him. To them he was a man of honesty and independence and they returned him to Parliament on eight occasions.
Since the secret ballot was not introduced until 1872, it's very likely they returned him for very different reasons. I'm changing it. Scolaire (talk) 13:18, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
