Can anyone confirm the location of the lynching? I believe the article may have the wrong location. The following is from "A look back at lynching in Forks"
10/24/2005 - Bob Lind - Fargo Forum
The Herald: “President (James J.) Hill of the Manitoba road … when told that the bridge had been used to such good purpose, said he was glad of it and only wished that he had attended the entertainment.”
This would place the lynching on the Great Northern Railway (Manitoba Road) bridge. I believe the actual bridge may have been replaced at some point, but is in the same location as the bridge that is currently used by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. The bridge that was torn down in 2000 was the old Northern Pacific Railway bridge.

I'm pretty confident he was hanged from the old Great Northern bridge since the Northern Pacific didn't even reach Grand Forks until 1887 and he was lynched in 1882. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jarubel (talk • contribs) 20:13, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
I have seen a picture somewhere of this incident long ago. It was a black man hanging from a rope off the railroad bridge in Grand Forks with several people standing on the bridge above him.
I have not had any sucsess finding it on the internet as it may have been in a magazine or in a book.Reply
