Autism film
editI removed this text from the lead:
- "He is a spokesman for the Autism Society of America, and is co-producing a full-length feature film, Jason's Run, which highlights the challenging disorder of autism."
and this from the body:
- "As an Autism Society of America spokesman, Adams is co-producing a full-length feature film entitled Jason's Run, produced by Kingdom Films, of which he and his wife Andrea are consultants. The dramatic film is a fictional account of an autistic white boy and his enduring friendship with a black boy from the "other side of the tracks", and highlights the puzzling and challenging disorder of autism.
the latter citing this source:
- "Jason's Run - The motion picture". kingdomfilmsinc.com. Retrieved 2007-08-17.
The cited source does not support the claim that Adams is a spokesman for the ASA: it never says anything about anybody being a spokesman. Also, the cited source does not say that Adams is co-producing the film. Nor does it say that autism is challenging or puzzling or a disorder. Let's find a reliable source for this claim before reinstating it into the text. My own impression is that the Jason's Run project is in pre-development and is not notable. I checked at autism-society.org and found no evidence that Adams is a spokesman for that society. Eubulides (talk) 22:40, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- My edit was soon reverted by a series of edits that contained these comments:
- "Seriously, why is this simple information so controversial for you. Revert/move existing ref. and a number of other existing refs say the same thing."
- "clarity - may or may not be an ASA spokesman at the present time - but definitely has been - and that is an uncontroversial fact."
- However, the newly added sources are (1) not reliable, (2) do not say that Adams was ever an ASA spokesman, and (3) do not make it clear that Jason's Run is a current or notable project.
- The Emediawire press release was apparently self-published, and it does not say that Adams was an ASA spokesman in 2004. Furthermore, self-published press releases are not reliable sources (see WP:SPS).
- The Youtube video is a self-published fundraising video. It does not say that Adams was an ASA spokesman. Furthermore, self-published Youtube videos are not a reliable sources either (see WP:SPS and Wikipedia:Reliable source examples #Are IRC, MySpace, and YouTube reliable sources?).
- Press releases and fundraising ads are not reliable sources for establishing that Jason's Run is a notable and current project. Wikipedia is not supposed to be the place for promoting causes or events, no matter how worthy; see WP:NOTADVERTISING.
- We continue to need a reliable, 3rd party source on these two issues. I am skeptical that Adams was ever a spokesman for the Autism Society of America. Jason's Run is pretty clearly a project that Adams was engaged upon at some point, but it's not at all clear from reliable sources that he is still working on it. As per WP:BLP #Sources, self-published material like this can be included only if "it is not unduly self-serving" and "it does not involve claims about third parties". Certainly the claim about the ASA is a claim about 3rd parties. And the claims about Jason's Run, as it stood, were pretty self-serving.
- I attempted to fix these problems by rewriting the text to remove the promotional fluff (see WP:NPOV) and to use sources that are at least somewhat better than Youtube videos.

- I agree with your edits and appreciate the explanations. However, I do still fail to understand your skepticism when it comes to this gentleman having been a spokesperson for the ASA. I have also read it on his site and see no reason why a person would lie about that. I did incorrectly think that "partnering" was the same as being a "spokesperson", but either way, your edits are a fair compromise and more accurate. ♫ Cricket02 (talk) 01:43, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Today's Google Doodle (Taiwan, 2012-01-06)
editHi all,
I noticed that Charlie Adams was featured in today's Google Doodle in Taiwan. Can anyone explain this?
Thanks,

- I had to check that out, but it is for a different Charlie Adams: [3] ♫ Cricket02 (talk) 04:52, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Charlie Adams' web sit
editI notice that charlieadams.org (the site linked to in the article) seems to have expired. Should it be removed? ~Piki (talk) 03:27, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- charlieadams.org is in Spanish and is not likely to be the official website. The correct site is charlieadamsdrummer
.com as indicated at www .ludwig-drums .com /en-us /ludwig /artists /charlie-adams and www .yanni .com /orchestra Ryan8374 (talk) 07:10, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
