The article says "After red-shirting in freshman year, Frye was named starting quarterback in just the second game of his freshman season" but to me that makes no sense. Should be "second game of his second year at Akron" or "second game of his REDSHIRT freshman season" as being redshirted means you skip a year and don't play at all. So he would have been an actual sophomore, but in football terms a redshirt freshman. Please correct the article if you think this is correct. I'd correct it but maybe I'm missing something here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jimindc (talkcontribs) 18:25, 30 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Charlie Frye is a MAC boy and has broken 49 records of the Akron Football Team! He is involved in many endovuers that the akron football team does, he also does charity work, and goes to the cleveland clinic to see the children in the hospital! He is currently on the Cleveland Browns and was the back up from trent dilfer but later became the starter when he got injured. in my opinion charlie frye has had a great football season so far and i hope it will continue. i am a great fan of his and hope his right wrist gets better soon!!

Browns haven't given Frye the proper chance!!!

First off Charlie Frye is a class act!! He won in high school, he won in college and heck let's face it his stats after 2 years are in line with those of Peyton Manning!! Yet, the Browns aren't satisfied? I don't get it!! How did they expect anyone to succeed with the line we had last year? They didn't take Quinn in the first round because they knew he would succeed behind that line, yet blast Frye for not being successful. I just don't get it. Jeff Garcia played here behind almost the same line (different center-Faine went on to have a great year with the Saints) and couldn't do anything, yet succeeds in Philly, that should have told them something.

Now I will say that drafting Brady Quinn when they did was a great move for any team, but I am partial to Charlie as I also went to Akron U, and watched all the games he played for the Zips. The guy is the real deal. He takes a hit, and another and another and never bitches about it!! He is for the team 100% and that is what is needed!!

I think it only fair that the Browns give Charlie a shot behind this new improved line to see what he can do. Everyone knows it isn't good to put a rookie QB in right away (although Charlie had to learn under fire).

In addition, before the Browns 'write off' Charlie I would like to see how well Brady Quinn would do if he had 3 different co-ordinators in 2 years and a line that couldn't stop my grandmother. Charlie had no control over how well their runners rushed, yet did anyone succeed there either? Nope, they need to find another excuse!!

Charlie Frye is the REAL DEAL!!

I want to see Charlie Frye go out and beat out Brady Quinn for the starting job this year and the following years. I know he can do it!! He just needed a better line!!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JST1674 (talkcontribs) 00:24, 1 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Where's Charlie?

edit

Frye is not listed on Oakland's roster, even the injured reserve. I cannot find any reference to his being traded or let go in any NFL news. Someone started a rumor that he was picked up by the 49rs as a third QB - but nothing on SF's website... where's Charlie?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.116.205.162 (talk) 16:34, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
