Circumstances of death
editThat sounds like an odd death. Was he drunk? Is it known why he passed out?
According to "Jazz and Death, Medical Profiles of Jazz Greats" by Frederick J. Spencer, M.D., "Charlie Green didn't freeze to death on his doorstep.", with or without Ape Pirates. Quoted from an e-mail at http://ml.islandnet.com/pipermail/dixielandjazz/2002-September/003443.html Not having a copy of the book available, I am unable to ascertain his actual cause of death so didn't edit the entire entry. - I have John Chilton's "Who's Who Of Jazz" at home. I'll check what it has to say about Green's death. /FredrikT 11:45, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
