X-Men connection?
editis there a connection between this episode and the x-men? LEADER OF THE x-men is charles xavier (charles x.)who is a mutant and has mental powers. thoughts"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.238.243.251 (talk) 17:03, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- Um...I highly, highly doubt that. He is never referred to as "Charlie X" in the episode (just "Charlie Evans"), so the title was probably thought up after the fact. Attaching "X" to the end of anything is a generic way of making something sound more mysterious ("Planet X," "Chemical X," etc). Also, the episode and X-Men have virtually nothing in common (besides the theme of "special powers" and the letter X, the former of which is incredibly common in many Star Trek episodes and other science fiction and the latter is, like I said, a way of making things sound mysterious). -Lamarcus (talk) 04:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
The Star Trek episode probably has nothing to do with X-Men (except if the people who created Professor Xavier had seen this episode, and were inspired by it), but it was certainly inspired by a book by Robert Heinlein, called "Stranger in a Strange Land". Many features of the book are present (a human raised by an alien race, rescued by humans after more than a decade, and who has powers like vanishing things and people, etc.) But the book is never mentioned in the series episode... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.79.216.250 (talk) 19:22, 30 May 2009 (UTC) --201.79.216.250 (talk) 19:27, 30 May 2009 (UTC)Sergio (sergiowb@terra.com.br)
- Charlex Xavier was created years before Star Trek 2600:1001:B12F:AEEC:898:20E5:BDD:5F00 (talk) 10:45, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Plot detail is appropriate
editSomeone should remove the silly label "too detailed." XavierItzm (talk) 18:22, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

- Well, I could, but I thought that rather than boldly deleting something that others have respected for 3 years now, I'd simply raise the issue on TP. XavierItzm (talk) 18:43, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Charlie X, Thanksgiving holiday episode.
editSpecifically, when Kirk complains they don't have real Turkey for the crew. Charlie changes the rations to Turkey. 98.50.118.15 (talk) 00:19, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
