NPOV?
editThis seems to be more about their legal troubles than about the company. - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 03:47, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, my googling on this subject produced a lot of evidence that this company is notable for being a polluter, which would explain (perhaps) your observation. There is a brief history section and information about production at the site. I'm not sure what else you would suggest? Jezhotwells (talk) 15:02, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- If it represents the weight of sources, then it's OK. I would have thought such a large company would have more about its history and non-polluting dealings, but if not, that's fine. - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 19:02, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Indicted/proecuted vs. criminalised.
editI agree with the GA review that criminalised (c.f. Criminalization) is the wrong word to use. However indicted or prosecuted are also wrong as they both mean the company has been sent to trial, but does not include the fact that it has been found guilty.
- This has now been cleared-up, avoiding both terms. 'Convicted of', the replacement, is objectively true and otherwise unproblematic.Astral Highway (talk) 15:56, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Tennessee plant?
editCan anybody confirm that the Chemet Co. Superfund site in Moscow, Tennessee is a separate company? The name is very similar but the Chemetco (no space) article says that the company had only the one site, in Illinois, and I've not been able to find any link between Chemet Co. and Chemetco on Google. The List of Superfund sites in Tennessee article used to link to Chemetco but I've deleted that link as I believe it's unrelated. Can anybody confirm this? Dricherby (talk) 10:12, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Geographical Coordinates wrong?
editThe coordinates may be for their offices in Hartford. The Superfund plant site is farther south at 38.798,-90.095 and extends along Chemetco Lane (closed to commercial use). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.73.22.113 (talk) 17:36, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

Is this article still a featured article ?
editI am translating this article in French.
I am surprised to notice that most of the external links are dead, despite some updates made by bots. But the worse is that this article almost only deals with an environmetal problems, whereas Chemetco was a leading enterpise, developping many metallurgical processes.
The lack of comparison with the Metallo-Chimique belgian company of Beerse, where Denis L. Feron was living, and which was the leading user of the Kaldo converter is stricking.
Imo, this is a newpapers compilation, and not a encyclopedic article. In 2009, the evaluations for featured articles were certainly not so stern.
Renaming this article into Closure of Chemetco must be the easiest way to solve the problems. Borvan53 (talk) 12:15, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

In 2009, the evaluations for good articles were certainly less demanding.

- I think this article is not a GA. It is disappointing that I am alone in giving my opinion about it. Borvan53 (talk) 21:11, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
- Borvan53, I agree with you. Also, because it is an individual reassesment, you may close the review even if there are few/no other comments. --MrClog (talk) 10:09, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you MrClog for your answer. I am delisting this article. Borvan53 (talk) 10:27, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
