editThe purpose of the article ethanol (and virtually each chemical compound) is to outline and discuss its production, properties, and relevant derivatives. The individual derivatives of course often merit their own pages. For example, ethyl chloride is a derivative of ethanol, but it is also a derivative of ethylene.--Smokefoot (talk) 18:00, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
It's a strange article, some relic from 2007. I agree it should be merged, but before that, I've tagged it for Chemistry. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 04:47, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
