Indeed - I have a reference that states the dam construction was started in 1927 and completed in June 1930. Interestingly the descriptions of the dam and power plant in the British technical press appear in 1934 and 1935 - Architectural Review No 446 January 1934 and Institute of Civil Engineers Proceedings Vol. 235, 1935. The artical also states the project was built by the FMS administration but it was in fact developed by the Perak River Hydro-Electric Power Company. This company was formed in London in 1926 following agreements between Armstrong, Whitworth Co Ltd (the British engineering company) and the Sultan of Perak.
The hydro-electric scheme at Chenderoh was designed by the consultant engineers Messrs Rendel Palmer and Tritton of London and Messrs. Vatternbyggnadsbran (VBB) of Stockholm, Sweden. The architect was Mr Osvald Almquist. Mikeya (talk) 16:43, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
