link happy
editMust the word "sister" be hyperlinked to the article for "sibling"? If one doesn't know what a sibling or sister or brother is, one must likely not know who Chesney Hawkes is, and therefore not be too concerned about his sister. --{{User:Coryma}} 03:18, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Latest Chesney Hawkes Project
editHello, I would like to bring to your attention Chesney's latest project, the Lexus Symphony Orchestra (details here: http://www.lexus.co.uk/about_lexus/news_and_events/lso.asp)
This was a world first and Chesney composed two original pieces of music for these events held at Castle Howard and Crystal Palace, UK. It would therefore be great if one of the editors could include a reference to this, maybe in the Trivia section of the article?
I also have pictures, mp3s of the tracks and a "making of" video of the events, if this could be of interest?
Thank you for your attention Converse16 14:15, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Two points:
- that first link is now dead;
- while there is possibly an argument that this is an artistic endeavour and that the orchestra warrants mention, the second link posted in the article is quite clearly just an advert for Lexus' in-car stereo: the rules regarding spam on Wikipedia are quite clear: "[a]dding external links to an article or user page for the purpose of promoting a website or a product is not allowed, and is considered to be spam." I've removed both links for the moment, although if you feel there's a valid argument for re-adding the second link, please feel free to discuss it here Dom Kaos (talk) 20:44, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Trivia
editTrivia sections are already the bane of Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Trivia sections) but the "fact" that Chesney is friends with some bloke called Roger Elliot is more banal than most. I just Googled the name and the only Roger Elliots with any connection to television are one [1] who appeared in a single episode of Open All Hours in 1981, and one (possibly the same person, difficult to tell) who appears to have been the "assistant director" [2] (whatever that is - a puffed-up term for "tea-boy"?) on the film When the Whales Came but who doesn't appear in Wikipedia's list of credits. Whoever this mate of Chesney's is, he is, in a word, unnoteworthy - so I've deleted the reference to him. If someone wants to take a bash at either incorporating the other trivia items into the main body of the article or binning them, it would do the article a great service Dom Kaos (talk) 20:35, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Chesney Hawkes in UK popular culture
editThere is nothing in the main article about how Chesney Hawkes holds a special place in UK popular culture.
In the UK at least, Chesney Hawkes is somehow synonymous with instant fame. For a (very) short time in the early nineties he was just about the most famous person in the UK.

- If you can find a WP:Reliable source that discusses the issue you bring up, you can present it at this page for consideration. Abrazame (talk) 23:29, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Good point. I thought it would be quite easy to find something, but maybe the internet came too late. I could not find anything. It seems he's had a more successful career since 1991 than I thought. Scrub this suggestion then :) Mattwinner (talk) 14:45, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. Wikipedia tilts heavily toward post-internet-era celebrities so it's good when we can unearth something substantive from previous eras. If you come across something by chance in the future, by all means bring it up here. Cheers! Abrazame (talk) 20:16, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Dizzys
editIn July 2011 an unregistered user introduced a film Dizzy and a single Dizzy. Are these real ? The film is not in IMDB. Neither is listed in his website. -- Beardo (talk) 05:56, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
