Chestnut-capped piha

5x expanded by Pomatostomus (talk). Self-nominated at 10:07, 26 March 2021 (UTC).Reply

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
  • Cited:
  • Interesting:
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: None required.

Overall:   Nice article! The picture has a tiny watermark saying "(c) Andrés M. Cuervo", but it was apparently uploaded to Flickr by the author under CC BY 2.0 so I'm presuming it's kosher. Also it seems that this is your first DYK nom, so QPQ is not necessary. DaßWölf 16:15, 27 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Link "invertebrates"
Done
  • "species’ tiny range" very limited?
Attempted
  • "piha is critically endangered" could you say "is considered by the IUCN to be critically endangered"?
Done
  • " piha in Anorí" link Anorí.
Done
  • "good infrastructure" what type of infrastructure?
Attempted
  • "avifauna" link?
Done
  • "chestnut-capped cotinga" etc, alternative names are usually bold.
Attempted
  • "Face of chestnut... " fragment, no full stop.
Attempted
  • "reclassified as a critically endangered species by BirdLife International" oh, that somewhat befuddles what I said above. What does IUCN think, or are the organisations synonymous in this sense?
I have no idea on this one, I'll let other editor handle it.
Came by after seeing the note at WT:WikiProject Birds...BirdLife International assesses all birds species for the IUCN redlist (this isn't obvious, so it's a good question). In this case I think the general reader is more likely to know of the redlist, and the specialist already knows of who the assessor is, so we can omit BirdLife from the text. I've tweaked it a little, hope this helps [1]. Vanamonde (Talk) 13:10, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Nice article, not sure why it's been hanging around GAN for so long. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 12:12, 31 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Pomatostomus are you returning to this nomination, it's been a week. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 06:43, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
He's been inactive for long time, I attempted to fix your concerns except the last as I have no idea. 114.134.189.25 (talk) 05:05, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hey TRM, I think 114.134.189.25 has mostly addressed your concerns, and I took care of one comment, just so you know. If you have other suggestions I could take a shot at addressing those too. Vanamonde (Talk) 05:57, 12 September 2021 (UTC) Sorry, just saw you had passed this; the bot edits weren't visible on my watchlist. Thanks. Vanamonde (Talk) 05:58, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
