- It is cited to a book that says "[it] does not resemble a Western cake at all". It only ever refers to the term of "water chestnut cake" Jolly Ω Janner 15:54, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

- Water chestnut is a completely different plant from chestnut, despite the similar name. And water chestnut cake has a different origin and uses different ingredients from chestnut cake, and should not be covered in this article. A hatnote would suffice. -Zanhe (talk) 22:56, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
