editAlthough the Chev Captiva and Holden Captiva are fundamentally the same car they will be sold with different specifications and in very different markets. In Australia we will think of this car as a Holden, not a Chev - That's my two cents worth, I think the Chev and Holden pages should both stay: davidmwaters@yahoo.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by David Waters (talk • contribs) 14:10, June 30, 2006
Name Change
editAt what point should the primary name of the article be changed to Chevrolet Captiva, rather than its Daewoo counterpart? As with all Daewoo products, it is now designed, from the beginning, to be a Chevrolet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Avisron (talk • contribs) 01:17, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- Considering the Captiva/Winstorm is sold as a Daewoo, Holden and a Chevrolet, using the original Daewoo name avoids bias. If the next generation Captiva is launched as a Chevrolet (à la Chevrolet Cruze v. Daewoo Lacetti Premiere) then the titles will probably get changed because current Daewoos now seem to be global efforts. OSX (talk • contributions) 01:37, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

USDM Captiva Sport
editGM is going to start selling a rebadged Saturn Vue as the Chevrolet Captiva Sport for rental fleets only in the US. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.235.92.237 (talk) 03:43, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Correct, but this is based on the Opel Antara/Saturn Vue. The "Chevrolet Captiva Sport" is different to the regular "Chevrolet Captiva"; they just happen to share very similar names.
- There is a hatnote at the very top of this article reading, "For the "Chevrolet Captiva Sport" sold in the Americas, see Opel Antara." OSX (talk • contributions) 07:32, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Opel Antara
editI'm a bit confused. What's the difference between Chevy Captiva and Opel Antara. From the dimension figures I gathered, they look the same vehicle, may be a bit different sheet metals.---North wiki (talk) 22:27, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- Not much. The Antara is effectively the Captiva (i.e. chassis, suspension, powertrains) with a new body including interior. Opel is a more expensive brand than Chevrolet in Europe, so Opel can sell the Antara for a higher price than Chevrolet can for its Captiva, despite the Antara costing about the same to produce. I know this is the case because the Antara and Captiva are both sold in Australia as Holdens and the Opel-based model is several thousand dollars cheaper.
- The Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain follow the same concept; that is, shared underpinnings and powetrains with different bodies. OSX (talk • contributions) 11:50, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Opel Antara is the short version (5 seats), corresponding to an Chevrolet/Holden Captiva 5. L.Willms (talk) 08:38, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

A rather spurious edit
editI was reading through the page when I saw this sentence critical of the car which is both unsourced and rather opinionated language unfit for an encyclopaedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chevrolet_Captiva&type=revision&diff=1065450388&oldid=1049478302
To me, it looks more like vandalism. Any opinions? I will delete it if no-one objects.2800:150:15B:8CE:1902:5EF9:F589:D11B (talk) 20:21, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
