editI have cleaned this up a very little bit, and removed a few peacock terms such as "outstanding natural beauty". it still reads rather more like a tourist flyer than an encyclopedia article to me. DES (talk) 16:47, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

I've done some clean up & tried to remove the flowery language - can anyone help with further clean up or can I remove the clean up tag?Rod 16:52, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Some of the ISBNs in the bibliography are incorrect. All ISBNs should be 10 or 13 digits without spaces. Joe D (t) 22:15, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure the bit about "No spaces" is correct. I thought that the spaces are important parts of the ISBN, i.e. 1 234 56789 0 is a different ISBN from 1 2345 6789 0. Can you point me at a source which says they should be omitted? SP-KP 22:26, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- The ISBN pages suggests they're redundant, and AFAICT the Wikimedia software (and most/all?) online bookstores omit them. Joe D (t) 22:29, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- They are, I believe, redundant, but not meaningless. 1st group says the language, second the publisher, third is a serial, fourth is a checksum. When you're into it, you can "read" a seperated ISBN. Rich Farmbrough 14:53 5 March 2006 (UTC).
snipe
editThis should probably be Common Snipe, Gallinago gallinago, but if it is intended to include Jack Snipe, that is not a Gallinago species, jimfbleak 08:58, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Featured Article
editI don't know why the featured article star isn't coming up at the top of the page. I tried to fix it but I don't want to over edit the page with something that might not work. So if someone would fix that, that would be great. RENTA FOR LET? 04:30, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

editAs I'm not sure why the following addition was made, I moved it here:

FA tune-up
editRodw: Hi! I've stopped in because we are re-assessing our oldest FAs to ensure they meet modern FA standards. This article is in great shape for a featured article from 2006, though—you have clearly been keeping an eye on it—so I've just made a few very small fixes. The only issues I see are some deadlinks that might be replaceable (see [1]). Thank you for being the rare nominator that is still watching his articles 8 years on! (and n.b. - the Valley article will soon be up for the same informal tune-up as well). Maralia (talk) 19:02, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comments - was it really 8 years ago. I've fixed or replaced some of the deadlinks & it has made me feel I need to go and check some of the other FAs I was involved in years ago.— Rod talk 20:05, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for the quick action on the deadlinks! Everything looks good, so I'm going to cross this one off the list and move on to the Valley article. Maralia (talk) 23:26, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

FA criteria
editLarge parts of the article have no references, failing verifiability requirements in the FA criteria. (t · c) buidhe 03:11, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Rodw: are you able to bring this to WP:WIAFA current standards? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 07:43, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
- I have moved house and am no longer local which also means I don't have access to all the resources (this also applies to Chew Valley) so unless someone else takes it on, then probably not.— Rod talk 08:15, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
