Date of Birth
editA date of birth of November 1979 would mean that the artist was 15 at the time of his first hit yet I have no recollection of him being hailed as a child prodigy or anything like that at the time. Does anyone know if this is his real date of birth or not? The only internet pages that I can find with this date on it are this wikipedia page and a page on last.fm. The information on the latter would have almost certainly been poached from here. Triangle e 09:10, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well done to the person that changed the date of birth to the correct date!Triangle e 07:37, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
In April 2006 Nick Bracegirdle is 35 years old which can be seen to be realistic from dated live shows/photos etc. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.179.230.137 (talk • contribs) 18:52, 27 April 2006 (UTC).
- I assume 81.179.230.137 (who I'm guessing is also 81.178.98.146 and 81.178.84.177) knows what he/she is talking about with regards to the (seemingly "insider") information recently. However, if this information is available from a publically available, non-Wikipedia source, this article could then become more verifiable through citing that source, which would be very helpful. (Particularly if we ever get to the point of nominating this article for featured status.) –Unint 04:46, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
First Release
editThe article states that Bracegirdle's first release was Cyanide Music Volume One in 1996, which is incorrect. His first release was Right Here, Right Now under the Disco Citizens moniker a year earlier in 1995. In fact the same section makes reference to this fact, in the next paragraph. This could do with correcting as the stated timeline doesn't otherwise make sense. I could change it, but wanted a second opinion first :-) –markey164 12:10, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
Visions of Ibiza
editFound no mention of this particular album, so I added this album in the albums sections. But it's basicaly a compilation. Maybe this should be in its own section as a compilation? joeinthebox 09:01, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- There certainly should be something to indicate that it's not a studio album. On the other hand, I'm not too sure about making a whole section for a single item. Do whatever works best, I suppose. –Unint 15:41, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Chicane - Offshore (Original ambient version).ogg
editImage:Chicane - Offshore (Original ambient version).ogg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Image copyright problem with Image:Chicane feat. Tom Jones - Stoned in Love (Club 12 mix).ogg
editThe image Image:Chicane feat. Tom Jones - Stoned in Love (Club 12 mix).ogg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Removed this irrelevant and poorly written paragaph
editTrainspotters may have noticed that when "Stoned in Love" was sung live by Tom Jones on The Jonathan Ross show it was in a lower key than the CD release. Jones appears to use his entire vocal range in this lower key. This may suggest that the CD version contains processed vocals which have been shifted higher in pitch, and hence at least partly explain why the vocal sounds younger and different from the classic Tom Jones sound (Madonna's vocals were similarly pitched higher on "Like a Virgin" to achieve a younger vocal). Jones also admitted to have recorded the verses consciously without vocal vibrato to be more in keeping which a dance-oriented track. On this track Chicane has moved yet further towards embracing electric bass and guitars, but underpinned with Chicane melody, progressions and keyboard elements. Band or Man?
editThis article is talking about Chicane like he's a band. Chicane's not a band is he? I've always thought Nick Bracegirdle was Chicane, he always seems to have someone like Ray Hedges write his songs with him, but that doesn't mean Nick & Ray are Chicane, does it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.254.67.181 (talk) 14:33, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
