Chigua is no more a valid genus

A recent revision (Lindstrom 2009[1]) sunk the genus Chigua and placed C. restrepoi and C. bernalii in the genus Zamia. It also regarded the two described species of Chigua as being a single entity. --Esculapio (talk) 19:24, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Esculapio Careful with the terminology, please. The name is still valid, as the word "valid" is defined in botanical nomenclature, although it is no longer accepted by current authors. The Kew World Checklist agrees that the genus should be merged into Zamia.Joseph Laferriere (talk) 16:31, 12 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
