reads like a PR release

This is supposed to be an encyclopedia - and this just doesn't feel like one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.127.128.70 (talk) 17:35, 9 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's nice if you can give examples. I'm reading this 5 years later and have no idea if the things that bothered you were cleaned up or are still in the article.Msalt (talk) 04:07, 22 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

After a victory in the 2013 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Kelly has been offered a head coaching opportunity by NFL teams, most notably the Cleveland Browns. Neulion987 (talk) 05:42, 5 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Early coaching history - vandalism?

edit

This has to be vandalism, right? Don't have time to find a source... "In 2004, the school broke 0 offensive school records; compiling 1 yard of total offense and scoring 10 or more less in seven games." 86.163.167.89 (talk) 23:06, 9 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Eagles coaching history vandalism

edit

"He is loved by Dallas Cowboys fans because he is destroying the Philadelphia Eagles as you read this." seems like vandalism to me. I'm not qualified to revert. 204.87.246.8 (talk) 17:30, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Additional sources

edit

There is a book about Chip Kelly, called "The Tao of Chip Kelly" (Diversion Books: NY) 2013, and a longform profile of Kelly by the same author at philly.com: "What Makes Chip.... Chip" at http://www.philly.com/chip Philly.com is the website outlet of the two daily printed newspapers in Philadelphia, the Inquirer and the Daily News. Msalt (talk) 06:44, 4 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Coaching Tree

edit

I added Bill Bowes, who was an egregious absence. On people that a coach spawns, is it only head coaches, or do offensive coordinators count? Kelly has already had, after just two years as head coach, two QB coaches leave to become NFL offensive coordinators: Bill Lazor in Miami and Bill Musgrave in Oakland. His complete NFL record is 22-16. Also, I was going to fix the math on some of his records (percentages). Thank you. Sprouttree (talk) 18:59, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Bad Photo

edit

Kelly's face isn't recognizable in the current picture as it is largely in shadow. I can see why you would want to include a picture where Kelly is wearing his iconic coaching visor, but surely there's a public domain photo that also includes an unobstructed of his face. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.98.189.224 (talk) 16:23, 6 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

1990 Marriage

edit

Hey guys, I'm wondering if it's really important to discuss his 1990 marriage to some unknown person? We already know the guys values privacy, I don't see the added value in discussing a 30 years old failed marriage, and the sourcing - while reliable - is largely dependent on this one interview. I don't see any value added to Chip Kelly's bio unless this might come up in a jeopardy question.--v/r - TP 02:52, 9 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Date he was fired by 49'ers listed as Jan 1 2016. Should be 2017. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:141:300:B128:1C8F:9412:9080:16A9 (talk) 04:13, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Question Regarding Info Box

edit

How come for people like Jim Harbaugh, Chip Kelly, and Herm Edwards we use an NFL-esque Infobox where with Lane Kiffin and Lovie Smith we use a college/college-coach style one? Shouldn't there be some consistency?

}} 74.64.98.83 (talk) 15:08, 12 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Question: Please what do you mean?  — Ammarpad (talk) 18:13, 12 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you go to Lane Kiffin's page, you'll find that he has an "Infobox college coach" (the box I'm referring to is on the right-hand side of the page and houses his head coaching record, past experience, and so forth - go to "edit" and see what I mean). If you go to Herm Edwards or Chip Kelly's page, they both have "Infobox NFL biography," yet are both presently coaching in college.

I prefer the Infobox for NFL coaches, but because there is no color-scheme for college teams, unlike in the NFL or CFL, that compliments the box to show what team a coach is with, I'm not sure why some have one and others have another. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:304:CD8B:4360:6105:B6A2:E36E:5114 (talk) 22:29, 4 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
