Merger

edit

I have proposed that Mexican hand tree (previously titled Manita), a stub of an article which has been tagged as not well referenced and which is a common name of Chiranthodendron, be merged with Chiranthodendron. -sche (talk) 19:45, 7 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

The Manita article's creator removed the merger-proposal template, contending that "each species is notable and meritous of its own article". I restored the template and note that it is common practice to have only one article for Monotypic plant genera; see Category:Monotypic plant genera. Wikipedia:Merging provides that articles which are duplicates, which articles on a monotypic plant genus and its sole species will necessarily be, is policy. I also note that the only reference the article [[Mexican hand tree]] contained did not, in fact, pertain to the tree; that reference has been removed and that article is now unreferenced. -sche (talk) 19:30, 16 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
I have merged the articles. -sche (talk) 23:58, 19 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

pick the flowers

edit

I have removed this sentence from the article: "[Aztecs] picked every bloom annually, preventing it from reproducing." It is unsourced, and McClintock and others describe the Aztecs as cultivating large gardens of the trees, implicitly contradicting it. -sche (talk) 21:44, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
