editWhere does Chlamydophila pneumoniae fit into the species types?
Do chlamydia have lipopolysaccharides (LPS)?
editdoes chlamydia have LPS? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.181.236.3 (talk) 21:18, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Yes, AFIK all GM(-) bacteria express LPS. Here's a specific reference for Chlamydia: http://www.chlamydiae.com/docs/biology/env_lps.asp Mark Lundquist (talk) 22:36, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
could defnitely talk more about the 1999 revision of genuses and species.
editthat topic probably deserves its own section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.181.236.3 (talk) 21:39, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

editI'm no microbiologist, so I can't do it, but the sections titled Genome structure and Pathology really need a very serious rewrite. It's not about the technical material, I can't judge that, it's the composition. For instance, Genome structure contains material that does not seem to be related to genome at all, but to other characteristics of the organism. Pathology only mentions STD and completely ignores ocular Chlamydia infection, a major world health problem. Pathology also really only discusses symptoms and diagnosis, not the pathological activity of the organism at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 7802mark (talk • contribs) 21:37, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
- I agree about the pathology section. I would add that it should address the affect of blindness as mentioned in the introduction section.--MeaniePanini (talk) 18:32, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
