Question

edit

Excerpt in quotations from wikipedia website below: "Usage The main application of sodium chlorite is the generation of chlorine dioxide for bleaching and stripping of textiles, pulp, and paper. It is also used for disinfection in a few municipal water treatment plants after conversion to chlorine dioxide. An advantage in this application, as compared to the more commonly used chlorine, is that trihalomethanes are not produced from organic contaminants. Sodium chlorite, NaClO2 also finds application as a component of contact lens cleaning solution under the trade name purite."

My question concerns the internal use of the 'purite' cleaning solution depending on the concentration of the Purite. Dilution by water down to a maximum of 5% mixture. I have not read the complete contents of the Purite brand, but does anybody have any input on this inquiry? I realize that if other ingredients than pur sodium chlorite, if they are hazardous, would preclude the Purite usage. I am looking for a source of sodium chlorite which does not cost $46.00 per 1 oz. for the alkalizing effect in the body.

Thanks, Daniel
