This article, as exemplified by the image, seems to confuse two different rebellions to revolutionary France, the Chouan uprising and the rebellion in the Vendee. Also it needs more details. This is a fairly under covered aspect of the FR so it really needs to be expanded into a full article. Any takers?68.115.113.22706:56, 9 February 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Neddyseagoon (talk • contribs) Reply
The War of the Vendee was lost by loyalists in 1793, the Chouans continued the fight on a guerilla basis but to no avail. The French article ,(the basis of the English one), typically, imo, repeats itself in several sections. Having done a bit of the translation, I reckon a rethink on content/titles would be wise. There's also going to be lots of redlinks with all those minor French protagonists Dickie (talk) 12:21, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

This article is unbalanced: the lead section is vague, while on the other hand sections 3.1 and 3.2 are very diffuse and prolix. As a result, the reader doesn't get a grip on how (un)important this 'Chouannerie' was in the history of France. I wanted to put a template with this message on top of the article, but can't find a suitable template. --Corriebertus (talk) 20:11, 6 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Is there any reason for the French flag used to demonstrate the combatants to be the wrong way around? I don't know about this bit of history so don't want to edit in case it has a genuine reason. EepoP1 (talk) 21:22, 2 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
