Weight?

No more bald spot??
editAnyone notice how Masters does'nt have that bald spot anymore?? I anyone looked closely...it's not a comb over and it's not hidden....his bald spot seems to be legit gone, anyone with more info on this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by E3323 (talk • contribs) 03:24, 12 September 2006

Steroids
edithttp://www.24wrestling.com/masters.jpg This picture surfaced recently. Thoughts?
We already know about that picture, it was being discussed below, where I'm betting you placed it and failed to sign your name, just like you did here. That version has been cropped from the original, but it's real. (PHOENIXZERO 02:46, 20 August 2006 (UTC))

Last name?
editWhat's the proper way to spell his last name? In the article, it's spelled at least three different ways: Mordetzky, Mordetsky, and Mordetzsky. Poofyspikes 02:00, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- wow your right i so never noticed that... hmmm well OWW says his name is spelt Mordetzky, which would infact make the article name wrong... dont know if we should move it or find some other refernces to his name first --- Paulley 11:23, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm inclined to think his real name is Mordetsky. OVW may have simply changed the spelling of his name. That happens with a lot of wrestlers. I did a google search and found both names to be supported. Maybe somebody else can do the proper research. OsFan 12:30, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
Its spelt Mordetzky,
STAMFORD, Conn., November 2, 2007 – In accordance with its Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy, WWE today suspended the following performers for violations: Chris Mordetzky (Chris Masters) for 60 days (second violation) and Harry Smith (DH Smith) for 30 days (first violation)

Middle Finger
editAt the April 10 edition of RAW, Chris Mordetsky was about to give the Master Lock on Carlito but I think he stuck his middle finger for less than a second. Maybe that's why Carlito gave a chair shot to him. --- NN3210, 4:01 PM, April 12,2006
- even if he did it isnt important we do not need week-by-week accounts --- Paulley 08:39, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- He "stuck his middle finger"? I don't get what you're trying to say. Can anyone please tell me what he means by that. Thanks. User:Slapslapslap
Too Many Photos
editA biographical article such as this usually only needs one picture (for identification purposes). Masters article is not large enough yet to warrant more photos. If people are really curious enough about a full nelson, they can get into on it. 69.137.234.44 20:10, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- the article is long enough to warrent more than one photo... and i would say considering the Master Lock is Master's whole gimmick then that would warrent a picture, but as for the entrance one that can go for all i care --- Paulley 12:37, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- A fair compromise. 69.137.234.44 17:22, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Trivia section
editI have edited the trivia section as it was riddled with spelling mistakes and information that would function better under the section denoting his WWE career. --- Jack of Blades.
Steroids?
editThere was a lot of speculation that Masters was taking steroids since his debut. I wonder if there is any definite proof either way on that one. I cannot judge simply by looking at him, but his veins and muscles do look a little pronounced, much like the Ultimate Warrior's back in the 80s. Maybe someone has a link or something that says exactly what drug he tested positive for, if anything is known.--Screwball23 talk 12:53, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
This has to be the most naive comment I've seen for a while. You really cannot work out if he was/is on roids?!!! Ask someone like Lex Luger and he will tell you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.229.27.251 (talk) 23:53, August 25, 2007 (UTC)
It's doubtful that it'll ever be revealed exactly which type of drug he was said to have used. There'll be rumors saying it was this or that. We know how these things usually go. All I've heard is that he was suspended for using some type of muscle enhancing drugs rumored to be anabolic steroids. This may be a rumor but according to wrestlezone.com, Masters was part of a television taping of OVW last night and his physique has changed drastically. According to the post, his physique has changed to the point that it'll be impossible to keep his "Masterpiece" gimmick going. Once again, this might be a rumor but here is the link: http://www.wrestlezone.com/article.php?articleid=157932579 Odin's Beard 00:04, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Contradictory information
editThis article: He had a ongoing relationship with Beth Phoenix, however they broke up and Phoenix married Joey Carolan. Mordetsky was pictured with a new girlfriend at the premiere of Kane's new movie, See No Evil.
Beth Phoenix: Despite popular internet belief, Phoenix has never dated Chris Masters, they worked together in OVW as (kayfabe) boyfriend & girlfriend.
Neither is cited. Which is it? Tromboneguy0186 03:57, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Polish?
editA. This needs a reliable source (no, not a Wiki mirror or his last name) and B. it shouldn't be in header, regardless Mad Jack 05:17, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Non-Steriod Picture
editThe picture of him "off" steroids is out of date. That picture is from 2005 as you can see from the Hulk Hogan vs HBK Summerslam poster in the backgroud. Also he wouldn't lose that much mass. KPax 23:43, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
I posted up in another section that he supposedly made his in ring return during an OVW taping last night and that his physique has changed considerably. Whether it's a rumor or not, I don't exactly know. But, if it's true, then I'd imagine a picture of him at the taping last night will be making the rounds over the net anytime now. Odin's Beard 00:06, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
The banner means nothing other than OVW left it up. Masters was on WWE TV at that time in 2005 and wasn't close to being that small. (PHOENIXZERO 00:50, 19 August 2006 (UTC))
I think it's unfair to say 'impossible'. It's extremely unlikely, but with the WWE, they could go anywhere with the gimmick, saying that a smaller body was needed to truly be a masterpiece, and I know it's ridiculous, but since when has the WWE been known for being sane? Adamaniac 18:23, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
I doubt that OVW is that lazy to leave a SummerSlam poster up for that long, If anything they would have at least changed it to a Wrestlemania Poster. KPax 14:50, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Yes, they are that "lazy" I'm watching their show from six days ago and you can briefly see the Hogan/Micheals poster in the background, this isn't anything new, they had old posters up back when I was there when they were in their old, stuffy arena. It's not a fake pic, the reason he was taken off of TV was obvious from the start and that picture just proves that was the case. (PHOENIXZERO 02:39, 20 August 2006 (UTC))
Just an update, I saw Chris Masters on OVW's 8/19 TV show doing a Masterlock challenge, he certainly does look smaller, he's lost quite a bit of his mass. (PHOENIXZERO 20:36, 21 August 2006 (UTC))
I'm watching his match with Cena on Raw right now. He's at least 30-35 pounds lighter than he was prior to his suspension. Odin's Beard 01:17, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, but I guess he's keeping the Masterpiece gimmick. Now that everyone should have seen him (aside from those of us who saw his OVW TV appearance) that be enough proof that he was on some sort of muscle enhancer?(PHOENIXZERO 01:27, 29 August 2006 (UTC))
- While i'm sure he used steroids, he was also in rehab and they don't let you do things like workout while in rehab so he was bound to lose some muscle. TJ Spyke 05:52, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm pretty certain that he was taking steroids at one time, or at least as certain as anybody else can be that is. While I expected him to lose some weight due to being in rehab, maybe 10 pounds or so, he has to be at looks at 30 pounds lighter. Such a dramatic loss of muscle mass in such a short amount of time, there's really no other explanation that I can think of without him just being really sick. I don't believe that Masters will attempt to regain the lost mass because Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler both said something to the like of "the leaner and meaner Masterpiece". I don't know if that's exactly the words they used, but they commented on the fact that he was much leaner multiple times. That might not exactly mean anything at all, but it just gave the the feeling that he'll stay this way. Odin's Beard 23:45, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Weight
editHis weight in kg:s and pounds doesn't match. Wich one on true? Also, since article says, he's lost MOST of his mass, that old weight isn't correct? (I personally don't think he lost that much muscle, just looks like it, because he gain some fat) BTW: sorry for possibly bad english --81.175.159.130 08:56, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Physique
editThis week Masters seems to have gained back some of his muscle mass. Anybody notice? Son of Kong

The Master Lock broken?
editThis article once mentioned the un-televised event where Booker T broke the Master Lock. I am just wondering, since it seems Triple HHH actually broke it tonight in a washroom.
Do you mean HHHHHHHHH?
Christopher Masterpiece
editWhy won't you let us call him Christopher Masterpiece? That is his real name. And according to Wikinews Vince McMahon says he is the future of wrestling. Should we add that to the article?--Rain of Swords 01:21, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- What are you on!? --- Paulley
I found out that his real name was Christopher Masterpiece a few months ago. I mentioned it on the Pro Wrestling Board on Gamefaqs and mentioned the great things he has done. Many fans followed me and now he has a huge fanbase. It started out with the Right to Christopher Masterpiece, which still has one member, and the mainstream one, the Masterflock. He is the future of wrestling and will win the title this year.--Rain of Swords 01:21, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- ooooooo...kay... well his real name is Chris Mordetsky... so you and your flock can go bother other people... i like Chris but there is no need to go weird ---- Paulley 01:13, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Fine, I will call him by his "real" name, but can I at least mention his internet fanbase on the article--Rain of Swords 01:21, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well if you guys have a website i guess you can add it as an external link. LOL, i would like to see the "Masterpiece family tree".. oh as for the title thing he would have held one in 2006 if it was for the drug rule changes in WWE --- Paulley
- If you make a website about the history of your fanbase then you can add a link to that in the External links section... but as of right now fandom like that has no place in this article --- Paulley
Ok, I will see what I can do. --Rain of Swords 02:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Don't listen to this guy, he's a troll on the GameFAQs boards. His "huge fanbase" is nothing but about five trolls who won't shut up and make topics about how much they want to rub oil all over his body and deny that he's ever lost a match. They also call him Christopher Masterpiece for no reason. Just ignore Rain of Swords, he's a loser with nothing better to do than annoy people. -- Mustkillroy
The PWB has spilled over.
- Yeah, he is. I lurk on that board, but RainofSwords retired about a month ago. He's gone. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 23:16, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Lashley the frist to break to the Masterlock?
editWasn't Jeff Hardy the frist person to break the lock not Lashley?-69.113.131.124 22:26, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
No, Lashley is the first to officially break the hold. Those who did it "unofficially don't count. --Nymetsfan 13:00, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
So when Jeff Hardy got to the rope in their match it didn't count as an official break?- 69.113.131.124 21:45, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
No. By the rules, holds have to be broken if one of the wrestlers touches the ropes or puts a hand or foot between them. Therefore, Masters had to release the hold or be disqualified. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.236.142.218 (talk) 01:25, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- Others have broken it (Booker T broke it during the WrestleMania 21 battle royal), but Bobby Lashley is the first one to "officially" break it. TJ Spyke 06:24, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

NPOV Check
editLines including "Masters unfortunately was unable to defeat the newcomer" (and there are more like it) seem biased. I want to be sure this is not just me seeing this here. - Deep Shadow 06:36, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
That line in my mind could be interpreted as either pro Chris, legitimately saying it would have been better for him to win, or it could be sarcasm. Either way it seems biased 69.115.231.177 04:42, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Injury
editHe supposedly has been injured recently can it be noted 82.4.71.30 03:38, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Had his elbow dislocated by the undertaker in a house show. The full story is as follows "It all started when Taker started working over Masters' arm early in the match. Masters tagged out and just stood there on the apron without selling the pain. On the other side of the ring, Taker was gesturing to Masters as if to say, "Sell your arm, dumbass." Masters still wasn't doing anything, and then Taker actually yelled it across the ring. Masters sold a bit and then apparently forgot again.
Masters was tagged back into the match, and apparently Undertaker roughed him up, blooding and perhaps breaking his nose. Masters then started having trouble breathing and got completely blown up. He finally rolled out of the ring and sold like he'd hurt his arm legit. As it turns out, Masters actually dislocated his elbow at some point.
Some guys came out and took Masters to the back. Finlay finished the rest of the match alone. That was the last time Masters wrestled on the tour. Also, a photo of Masters wearing a sling on his arm turned up online, so his injury was serious."
He'll be out for a while i presume. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.42.177.223 (talk) 20:28, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

editHi guys! I just went on WWE.com and it said Chris Masters had been released, so I went ahead and added this to the article (in the intro and at the end of his bio). This is the first significant edit I've ever done, and the first time I've cited a source, so any errors or omission's are just a rookie's mistakes (i.e. feel free to constructively criticise.) Hopefully everything is good, though. Happy editing, all! --Yamla 17:44, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
New Identity/ Sanctioning Body For Mordetzky?
editI will profess that I didn't watch the show all that carefully, but I believe that Mordetzky is now appearing as "Rellik" on TNA -- the character wears some sort of mask (similar to the one Vader used to wear) but I thought I saw the tattoo mentioned in other posts.
Hopefully someone can take a more careful look and confirm or deny. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.244.188.240 (talk) 04:48, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Poorly sourced trivia section disguised as information about Mordetzky's personal life
editI have now removed a section formerly entitled "Personal life" which gave unreferenced information about his tattoo, role models while growing up, and dating Elizabeth Carolan for being unimportant, trivial, and possibly untrue. Also removed in that section was his wife's name, the only reference being his mySpace page, which is not reliable. If there are any objections, please comment. --User:Iambus (speak | proposal) 06:00, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Managers
editI can't find any references anywhere that he was ever managed by Beth Phoenix, though I think I remember it, or Sherri Martel, which I most certainly do not remember. If anyone has a reliable source for these, please add them. Desirsar (talk) 02:44, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
Looking at http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/profiles/s/sherri-martel.html Sherri Martel has probably never met Masters before, they were from different times and she only came back briefly at the end of her career. Looking at http://www.cagematch.de/?id=2&nr=592&view=manager#manager Beth Phoenix did manage Chris Masters, but only in OVW. I will make the necessary changes. Thanks Desirsar! TNA
editStill not finding anywhere that says he is signed to TNA. Bleacher Report only says he's working with TNA's project in India, but not in what capacity. He doesn't say he's wrestling on his Twitter account, and that's not an acceptable source even if he did. Desirsar (talk) 05:27, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Chris Masters
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Chris Masters's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

editSince Chris Masters uses Scoop powerslam, Sidewalk slam and Vertical suplex powerslam, it creates a Variation of Powerslam because he uses multiple Powerslam variations.
