I moved this to Christchurch (disambiguation) from Christchurch, and moved Christchurch, New Zealand to Christchurch. My reasoning is that the Christchurch in New Zealand is by far the more common use of the name, and it is standard in Wikipedia to use the most common name as the main page. I wanted to get this done as soon as possible because the number of links in New Zealand articles is increasing rapidly. I have done the same thing with Dunedin, but have deliberately avoided doing this for Nelson and Napier, where usage is more ambiguous. Ben Arnold 14:24, 1 May 2004 (UTC)Reply

Christchurch (New Zealand electorate)

edit

I've included the old New Zealand electorate of Christchurch on this page. This is important, as City of Christchurch redirects to the electorate, but this is conceivably a search term for the city itself. Schwede66 01:08, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Christchurch (disambiguation)Christchurch — I can't see why Christchurch, Dorset is any less important. Crouch, Swale talk to me My contribs 09:40, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Might the fact that Christchurch, New Zealand, has about ten times more people than Christchurch, Dorset, have anything to do with it? Ucucha 12:21, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oppose move this is exactly as it should be, the NZ city is far better known than the English town. S a g a C i t y (talk) 12:34, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
