Bus Interchange → Christchurch Bus Interchange – "Bus Interchange" is a vague term that describes the purpose of the place. It may be technically the correct name, but only in the context of Christchurch. As this is a global wiki I think we should prefix it with "Christchurch". There are some sources referring to it by the "full name": 1, 2, 3, 4 David Palmer//cloventt (talk) 23:17, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Support. Locals simply call it "Bus Exchange". But this article should be moved to "Christchurch Bus Interchange" as it is more appropriate than "Bus Interchange" because it is too vague. This page is on my watchlist and support moving it to Christchurch Bus Interchange Alexeyevitch(talk) 23:27, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Bus Exchange is actually a different problematic article. I suppose that should go to Christchurch Bus Exchange as well? Dekimasuよ! 07:32, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- Yes it should. Locals (including myself) call the central bus station (we currently have): "Bus Exchange". Heard some people call it Bus Interchange but both are used commonly. I support the Bus Exchange article getting renamed to: "Christchurch Bus Exchange". Alexeyevitch(talk) 07:38, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

- Support: Per nom. Possibly add a hatnote to Bus station as well. Fork99 (talk) 23:31, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom, this title is ambiguous, not WP:PRECISE. As internationally "Bus interchange" is usually part of a proper name, therefore it is usually capitalised as "Bus Interchange" for each place that uses it so probably not meeting WP:SMALLDETAILS. If "Bus Interchange" remains redirected to here if this moves, then a {{redirect}} hatnote is needed here. But makes sense for the uncapitalised and capitalised version to both redirect (post-move) to Bus station, so therefore a hatnote not needed then. Appears the WP:NATURALDAB is used to prefer that over "
(Christchurch)
/, Christchurch
". DankJae 15:15, 23 August 2024 (UTC) - support per nom—blindlynx 21:36, 24 August 2024 (UTC)

Change the redirect?
editWould anyone mind if I changed the redirect so that it went to Bus station instead? OrdinaryGiraffe (talk) 19:55, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- You need to deal with the incoming links first, OrdinaryGiraffe. Once you've done that, you can change the redirect. Schwede66 20:14, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reminder, I forgot about that. OrdinaryGiraffe (talk) 18:03, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- Given the amount of the incoming links, I think I might create a hatnote instead of changing the redirect. OrdinaryGiraffe (talk) 18:05, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
