I am Christina McPhee, aka 'naxsmash' user here. I had a look at the wikipedia entry on my life and career yesterday and realized that I could edit it to reflect data on my past and current career with complete documentation and references in links, ISBN, etc etc. I now find that somebody has taken it all down and reverted to the over ten year old version. How can I help with this so that my revision is seen as legitimate by the editors of Wikipedia? I would appreciate any advice you can give me. I am happy to give my revisions to a known wikipedia editor and let him go ahead and repost if that would seem more legit on your end. Looking forward to any advice, thanks. Christina aka naxsmash. If you are the subject of the article, editing it yourself is very highly discouraged, especially without having disclosed your affiliation beforehand. Please refrain from doing further edits to the page directly, and carefully read through Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, to know the proper processes to suggest changes for this article. thank you CloakedFerret, appreciate the comment, I just didn't see this caveat, sorry. I'll work with a legit editor going forward. I certainly don't want to mess with this in a way that is not kosher. Naxsmash (talk) 19:08, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
You have a conflict of interest. I recommend you read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Your sources weren't the best, as they are all closely associated with you. What you wrote didn't sound very neutral, especially the first paragraph. Lots of fancy words, remember that Wikipedia's target audience is Joe Blow from Arizona, just a regular dude. The two other paragraphs didn't have references, which is unacceptable. Your edits were in good faith, but you really shouldn't edit the page further more due to your conflict of interest. Can't stress it enough, read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. win8x (talking | spying)01:16, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
thanks, Bbb23, no worries, I'm not going to try to edit the page myself going forward. The page was created by others over a decade ago. Obviously, editorial effort on this page needs to be done by persons who have no vested interest in my career. I respect Wikipedia and its guidelines, this was just an error and misunderstanding on my part. Naxsmash (talk) 19:36, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
