Review comments
editSome suggestions for improvement as the article is expanded:
- Template:Infobox Scientist should be added
- Photograph should be added from a source with a free license
- Some biographical information required, including some education details (eg first degree), other positions held etc
- Article needs expanding and should emphasise reasons for notability of subject
- Article should be divided into appropriate subheadings
- Information on research should be expanded and references required
- References should be expanded and preferably converted to inline format
- External links present which could be used to expand article
Erdős Number
editI use Wikipedia a great deal in my own research to scratch the surface of many related topics. I appreciate the humor in the "tongue-in-cheek measurement of mathematical prominence", but it has little use in understanding anybody's work or significance within the larger community. It's just one more reference to filter out as I navigate this on-line encyclopedia for my own efforts.
I certainly don't want to stifle folks' fun, but I hope such references do not become commonplace in Wikipedia. Such distractions in larger numbers will only weaken this fantastic tool. Wolfworks (talk) 16:22, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
German?
editThe article says he is a US citizen and that he was also born in the US. However, I saw him on a tv show and he has a very German sounding accent. Anyone know how come? DirkvdM (talk) 11:40, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
He is German, although he may now have US citizenship. His parents were in the US for diplomatic purposes at the time of his birth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eric724 (talk • contribs) 00:34, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
